John B. Combs is a member of the Grand Rapids, Michigan law firm of Hickey Combs PLC. Mr. Combs attended Vanderbilt University and obtained his Bachelors Degree from Albion College. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Since 1990, Mr. Combs has counseled and defended businesses, employers, insurers, and claims administrators in workers' disability compensation matters. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and its Workers' Compensation and Employment and Labor Law Sections. He is also a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, Michigan Defense Trial Counsel and the Michigan Self-Insurers Association.

Mr. Combs is a frequent speaker and presenter on workers' disability compensation issues in seminars to diverse groups including employers, insurers, and claims administrators. His presentations have included the following groups: Council on Education in Management; Michigan Self-Insurer's Association; Institute for Continuing Legal Education; Lorman Education Services; National Business Institute; and various claims and employer groups.
